A chic retreat set on an organic farm, with the sound of Brunton Burn babbling at the bottom of the garden. Stable Cottage offers beautifully presented self-catering accommodation that is ideal for families and smaller groups.

Inside, this newly-renovated holiday cottage is cosy yet light, and presented with great attention to detail, with original wooden flooring in the sitting room.

The three bedrooms are immaculately-presented. They have Freeview televisions, ample storage, a stunning super-king sleigh bed in the master bedroom and zip-and-link super-king or twin beds for flexibility in the remaining bedrooms. The floors are carpeted, and there are top quality mattresses, sumptuous feather-and-down pillows and duvets and crisp Egyptian cotton bed linen.

The bathrooms have walk-in showers, as well as a traditional tub in the family bathroom for a good soak. White Company towels and luxurious toiletries are provided.

For our more energetic guests, there is a warm, spacious boot room, which is perfect for dogs, wellies, fishing rods, walking boots and surfboards.

Living Accommodation

  • Living Room
    This spacious room has a wood-burning stove, Freeview television, DVD player, Wi-Fi, digital radio, iPod / iPad dock, carefully chosen books and games, and double-aspect windows overlooking the front and back gardens.
  • Kitchen / Dining Area
    The kitchen has a four-plate electric double oven range cooker with griddle, microwave, large integrated refrigerator and dishwasher. Daily essentials are provided, including oil, salt and pepper, tea and coffee, washing-up liquid, bin bags and tea towels / dishcloths. The dining area seats six.
  • Bedroom One
    This has a stunning 6 ft super-king wooden sleigh bed, plus ample storage and Freeview television. It also has an en-suite with shower, basin and wc.
  • Bedroom Two
    This has either a 6 ft super-king bed or two 3 ft single beds, plus ample storage and Freeview television.
  • Bedroom Three
    This also has either a 6 ft super-king bed or two 3 ft single beds, plus ample storage and Freeview television.
  • Family Bathroom
    The family bathroom contains a bath, separate walk-in shower, basin and wc.
  • Utility Room
    This large utility room contains a freezer, washing machine, tumble drier, basin and wc.
  • Boot Room
    With an outside door, this is perfect for dogs and storage.
  • Outdoors
    Outside, with seating to make the most of this sun-trap, there is a south-facing gravel courtyard to the front, and an enclosed garden to the side and rear, with a stream flowing beyond the fence. There is private parking for two cars in the courtyard at the front of the cottage.
  • Facilities for Infants
    A travel cot and high chair are available on request. A babysitting service is available subject to prior notice. The details are in the information file in the cottage or contact us by telephone or email in advance.


Two well-behaved dogs are allowed by prior arrangement in the uncarpeted living areas of Stable Cottage. Guests are responsible for ensuring dogs remain within these areas and are not allowed to access upstairs or carpeted rooms or to climb on to furniture. Additional dogs may be allowed, again with our prior permission, to stay in the stables.
